240mph on the Le Mans Mulsanne straight was the spark that ignited the racing passion in Sarah.

An outing in a racing kart established that she had a natural ability to race and subsequently came second on her first ever kart race. She acquired her own racing kart and honed her ability.

For the next 5 years she raced in a series of ever more powerful racing machinery, finding she could handle them all. In 1996 she raced an F3000 for the first time and her performance from the outset immediately showed that she was a star.

Then the racing promoters in Japan invited Sarah to race in the prestigious Formula Nippon series. Racing with established champions meant that those in the sport could see the undeveloped talent, she was advised to begin training for Formula One. more
